Megan Hus, LPC, LADC, ADS
Hi! My name is Megan Hus and I am dually licensed in Connecticut as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
My work starts with where you are, with understanding you and your environment and helping finding meaning behind challenges you may have faced or are trying to cope with right now. I can help to shape your goals into realistic and healthy steps and also provide you with a safe, comforting environment so you can begin more mindful-living.
Training and Different Approaches.
I hold a Master's Degree from Fairfield University in Community Counseling and have been practicing for 12 years now. I tend to use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy with clients and also Mindfulness Based Approach to help break down the thoughts, feelings and behaviors which may be creating additional stress in your life.
I also integrate my training as an ADS: Auricular Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist. This is a holistic intervention used to reduce cravings/urges, withdrawal symptoms, but can also help reduce anxiety, help you sleep and teach an individual to find calmness within. It is also known as the NADA Protocol. In 2015, I was a National presenter in Cleveland, OH where I presented on a study I completed on the use of acupuncture with addiction and anxiety.
I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is a therapy approach that can help reduce the impact of trauma in your life whether it be a history of abuse, relationship struggles or different memories that may be holding you back. EMDR works by desensitize triggers which can be linked to difficult memories or in regards to substance use.
Lauren Gomola, LPCA
(Additionally expertise as a certified trauma sensitive yoga teacher & birth and post partum doula)
I support people through the complex, messy, and meaningful work of healing—whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply ready for change. My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in the belief that healing happens when we feel safe, seen, and supported. I believe it is essential to meet people where they are, without judgment, and help them move toward greater connection—with themselves and the world around them. I don’t subscribe to a one-size-fits-all method; instead, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches based on your unique needs, goals, and nervous system. I often integrate somatic awareness and mindfulness-based tools, but above all, I prioritize a space that feels safe, collaborative, and responsive to you. Before becoming an LPCA, I worked as a trauma-informed yoga teacher, meditation coach, and fertility, birth, and postpartum doula. I realized that I was limited in how I could be present for my clients, so I decided to pursue further education to extend my reach. I am passionate about working with people adjusting to change and transitions in all parts of life, coping with trauma, anxiety, and depression. I believe in small shifts, nervous system kindness, and that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is just show up and be honest. Also, I believe in laughter—because healing doesn’t have to be heavy.
